July 70

Here is where you post your 70 mile month. We are down to 4 runners. I didn't drop Ed because he did get in his 60. Got to make him at least THINK about running the 70 this month to stay in the challenge.

Thanks Mike, nice try!

I do not know of a 70M or more organized trail run that's less than 900M from Louisville in July -- sadly, I cannot motivate myself to run 70M on my own in the heat . . . . Don't worry, there are really good (& motivated) runners left in this challenge & they can take the heat! Go runners!

Good Luck Mike at the Pony Express 100!!!

Ed - why give up so easy? Get on a treadmill and bang out 70 miles in air conditioning!

Thanks for the good luck Ed. I stopped at the bike shop today and got new pedals for my upcoming 24 hour bike ride, and priced out/looked at my new shorts and handlebar ends...as well as an innertube and repair kit in case I get a flat.

Ran the BT50K race and turned around and ran most of the BR100 course back to the Meriam road BR100 aid station for the other 39 miles. 31 mile race in 6:27:35 and the other 39 miles in 9 hours.

I completed my 70 miles for the month by running at the Groveport recreation center this past Sunday. I wanted to get used to running over a one mile loop course to prepare myself for the 24 hour championships in October. The weather this past weekend was perfect for the middle of summer in Ohio. Looking forward to next months 80 mile run. Good luck to the rest of runners still in the thick of things.

Thank you!
08/02/09 After crossing the finish line in 27 hrs. and 39 mins. and turning around on the BR100 course I bailed at 107.5 miles. I thought about all the mud at Perkins trail that tore me apart last night and said no way I can do that again. Pain was too great to continue today. Thanks all for your support and pledges! I will post soon as I need some sleep. From www.AmileforaChild.com
